Baremul®-18, developed by Barel, is a next-generation polymeric water-in-oil (W/O) emulsifier engineered for exceptional stability and oxidation resistance. Compatible with a wide range of cosmetic lipids, its unique long-chain lipophilic structure minimizes interference from polar hydroxyl groups in hydroxystearic acid, enabling optimal extension of lipophilic ends into the oil phase. This ensures W/O emulsion stability independent of oil polarity, making it ideal for emulsifying technically demanding ingredients like paraffin oils and vegetable triglycerides.​​

Formulations with hard-to-emulsify oils or waxes.

Usage and dosage: 

Concentration: 2–4% (incorporated into the oil phase).

Procedure:

Gradually add the aqueous phase to the oil phase under high-speed agitation.

• Homogenize the emulsion to achieve particle size ≤1µm.
• For wax-containing oil phases, homogenize below 30°C to ensure controlled recrystallization.
• Compatibility: Suitable for cold, cold-hot, or hot-hot processing methods.
